1. Terms of Service

By installing or using AI Browser Assistant (the "Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension and do not use the service.

AI Browser Assistant is a Chrome extension that uses artificial intelligence to provide guided website navigation, task completion assistance, form help, and page analysis. The service is provided "as is" to the best of our ability.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use AI Browser Assistant only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the Extension to engage in any illegal activity
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Extension or its backend systems
• Abuse or attempt to circumvent token limits, payment systems, or usage quotas
• Use the Extension in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service or servers
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Extension without authorization

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to any user who violates these terms.

3. Payments & Refunds

AI Browser Assistant offers optional token packs purchased through Stripe. All prices are in USD. By making a purchase, you authorize the stated charge.

Token Packs

Token packs are consumable credits used to process AI requests. Once tokens are consumed they are not refunded. Unused tokens do not expire as long as your extension installation remains active.

Refunds

We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis for unused token packs within 7 days of purchase. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us through the extension's Privacy & Support tab with your Support ID and purchase details.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's terms and privacy policy apply to payment transactions: stripe.com/privacy.

4. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

AI Browser Assistant is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the AI guidance provided will always be accurate.

The AI may make mistakes. Always verify important information — especially for legal, financial, medical, or government-related tasks — with the relevant official source.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Browser Assistant and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Extension.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. AI Browser Assistant is designed to collect as little data as possible while still delivering a useful service. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and how your data is handled.

6. What We Collect

AI Browser Assistant collects minimal anonymous data to operate and improve the service. Specifically, we record:

• A randomly generated installation ID (not linked to your real identity)
• Token count per AI request and timestamp, for usage tracking and quota enforcement
• Purchase history (pack type and amount) when you buy a token pack, processed via Stripe
• Your email address if you voluntarily provide it when purchasing or restoring your account
• Name, email, and message content if you voluntarily submit the in-extension contact form
• Anonymous step-completion events to help us improve guidance quality across websites

7. What We Do Not Collect

• Your name, email, or any personal information unless you voluntarily provide it
• The content of your AI conversations — page content is sent to our backend for processing only and is not stored
• Your browsing history
• Keystrokes, passwords, or form data you enter on websites
• Any data from pages where the extension is not actively in use

8. How Your Data Flows

When you actively use the assistant on a page, the visible content of that page is sent to our secure backend (hosted on Supabase) solely to generate AI guidance for your request. This content is processed in real time and is not logged or stored.

Only anonymous usage statistics (token count, timestamp, installation ID) are recorded for billing and abuse prevention purposes.

AI processing is handled by a third-party AI provider. Page content is sent to this provider only for the duration of your request and is subject to their data processing terms.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

9. Permissions We Use

• activeTab — to read the current page content so the AI can help you navigate or understand it. This permission is only used when you actively interact with the Extension.
• storage — to store your anonymous installation ID, token balance, and local usage statistics on your device.
• scripting — to display visual step highlights directly on web pages as part of guided navigation.
• Network access — to communicate with our backend (Supabase) and the AI provider to process your requests securely.

We request only the permissions necessary to deliver the core functionality of the Extension. We do not request access to all sites by default, and we do not monitor background browsing activity.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

Retention

Anonymous usage records (token counts, timestamps, installation IDs) are retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, after which they are deleted.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws.

Requesting Deletion

To request deletion of your records, contact us through the Extension's Privacy tab using your Support ID (visible in the Extension settings under Privacy). We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
